Polynucleotides – why I talk about skin regeneration differently today

As a physician and dermatologist, I have been working with skin for many years. And the longer I practice, the clearer it becomes to me that skin does not age solely due to time. It ages due to stress.

UV radiation, stress, inflammation, hormonal changes, and even aesthetic treatments themselves leave their mark. As we age, skin loses density, elasticity, and moisture-retention capacity. Its rate of regeneration decreases. It becomes thinner, more sensitive, and more reactive.

Many of my patients describe this feeling very aptly. The skin no longer feels secure.

It is precisely at this point that polynucleotides become interesting to me. Not as a quick fix, but as a response to exhausted skin.

What polynucleotides really are

Polynucleotides are biologically derived molecular chains that are structurally closely related to the building blocks of our DNA. And that is exactly what makes them so special.

They do not act by driving, pushing, or stimulating. They act by organizing.

In the skin, they form a regenerative matrix. A structure that supports cells in working stably again. Not faster, but healthier.

At a biological level, polynucleotides can support tissue regeneration, stabilize the skin barrier, balance inflammatory processes, bind moisture long-term, and strengthen the skin structure.

What results is not a rapid transformation, but something much more valuable: calm in the tissue.

Why calm is sometimes the strongest therapy

Many skin problems do not arise because too little is happening, but because too much is being demanded at once. Too many stimuli, too many impulses, and too little recovery.

Polynucleotides address exactly this. They help the skin return to a state in which processes can run in an orderly fashion. The skin does not have to react; it is allowed to regenerate.

The effect is quiet but noticeable. The skin feels calmer, gains resilience, and appears more resistant. Not overnight, but sustainably.

Skin longevity means resilience

For me, skin longevity does not mean permanent activation. Long-lasting skin is not skin that is constantly stimulated, but skin that copes well with stress and can reliably recover.

Polynucleotides support exactly this ability. They strengthen the skin structure without overwhelming it. They help the skin to remain stable in the long term. An aspect that is often underestimated in aesthetic medicine.

For skin that should feel secure again

I particularly like to use polynucleotides for skin that appears exhausted or fragile. After intensive treatments, for sensitive and reactive skin, or whenever skin needs time and not further stimulation. Polynucleotides represent a quiet but deeply effective approach in modern dermatology. They do not promise quick effects. They focus on substance, stability, and regenerative capacity.
